Earlier today, my best buddy Ron asked me whether I can make calls using WhatsApp or not. I said no because I don’t see any call icon anywhere in my WhatsApp. So then he tested and gave me a buzz. True enough, WhatsApp voice calls are now active to all users.
If you have updated your WhatsApp to the latest version and did not see any call icons, simply ask someone who already has that function activated to give you a call. After that you will automatically see the new interface on your WhatsApp which includes the call icon.
The interface is pretty simple. You will now see 3 tabs at the top of your WhatsApp screen which says Calls, Chats and Contacts. In calls, it shows you all your recent calls, incoming and outgoing plus the time and date. In the Chats tab, is the usual WhatsApp chat window. Finally you can now access the Contacts easily from one of the 3 tabs at the top.
So this is how it would look like when someone calls you. Call quality is pretty good without any lag. It would be good to have a fast and steady internet connection for any of the voice over IP devices anyway. From the moment when WhatsApp made this voice call available for all, I have been receiving calls from my friends simply because they wanted to try it out.
So what are you waiting for? Go and try it out. Remember, make sure you have the latest WhatsApp updated to your phone. Cheers.
